Mother's Day--May 8th, 2011

Happy Mother's Day! I am so thankful there is a holiday to honor our mom's who work so hard and are so giving and loving! My mom is the queen of all mom things! I only pray that I can be at least half the mom she is--she is definitely the prototype of a "SuperMom"! I love her dearly and thank God for the blessing she is. I pray daily that she will be blessed to the extent that she blesses all of us in her life! We love you Mom!

7-Month-Old Lilly

Seven months and she's on a roll! Lilly loves jumping, scooting (only backwards mostly), and laughing. She also loves shrieking, especially at her baby doll and a monkey in one of her books. She eats really well and picks up the little finger foods on her own as well. She had a professional photo shoot on her seven-month birthday, but we're still waiting on the pictures. The best word to describe Lilly is delightful!

Professional Photo shoot had been the day before so she was barely tolerating pics

Easter Sunday--April 24, 2011

Easter Sunday was extra special for so many reasons this year. We are so thankful and happy to celebrate the Resurrection! In addition to that, Jake got most of the day off work (he usually works Sundays at Daybreak), and got to be with the family for church and Easter dinner. Another super special thing about this Easter was, not only was it Lilly's first Easter, but it was her baby dedication as well! My parents were there, Uncle Rex and Aunt Kathy, Jake's parents, Jake's Grandma, my Grandma Jones, and Jake's cousin, Devin, were all there as well. Lilly was pretty cheerful and even let Pastor Jim hold her (although she did get pretty grabby with his microphone!).

After church, we went to my Mom's for a lovely Easter lunch. This year we decided to keep it simple and do deli sandwiches and lots of fruits and veggies. It was so nice and so fun. Jake's parents and grandma, as well as Devin, joined us. My Grandma and Grandpa Miller made it as well as Grandma Jones. Our friends, Ben and Janelle and their baby, Bendigo, made it too. After lunch, we did an Easter Egg Hunt for Jackson. Let's just say he got a lot more eggs than the day before! Some of the plastic eggs had chocolate in them and Grandpa Webb decided to trick Jackson by trading some of the chocolate for rocks in a couple of them! The look on Jackson's face was priceless!

Our Family on Easter

Sweet little Lilly

Jackson had to open every single plastic egg to inspect it--let's just say it was not a quick hunt!

Again!

Easter Egg Hunt--Saturday, April 23rd

I took Jackson and Lilly to the Easter Egg Hunt at Filer First Baptist on Saturday. I am pretty sure the entire town of Filer was there! In the years past when we've taken Jackson, there was just a small crowd, mostly from the church. This year, it was crazy how many people were there! Hundreds of people poured out of that little church! Jackson only got two eggs (I didn't help him because I think it should be for the kids not the adults and I wasn't too concerned about how many eggs he got anyway) but he seemed slightly disappointed. Snacks quickly diverted him, however! The church served lunch for the families and it was really nice to see such an outreach to the community. Chaotic though it was, God's purposes were accomplished that day--Jesus said to feed the people, and boy that church did! Unfortunately, I tried to snap some photos, but got only adults backsides (it was just too crowded), so I hastily gave up and decided to just enjoy the time and forget about capturing any photo ops.

Easter Fun 2011-Friday, April 22

My mom volunteered to supply eggs for the church Easter egg hunt in Filer, so we decided to help her dye eggs. Jackson actually lasted through about a dozen eggs this year, compared to the 3 eggs he helped with last year, so we are making progress! One of these Easters maybe I won't be dying any! Lilly was mostly excited about trying to grab the cups full of dye. Yeah, I was definitely on my toes, to say the least!

Captain Mommy

So Jackson and I have been playing pirates a lot lately. Our bed is the pirate ship and Jackson has a hooded towel that is a pirate towel. Jake and I won a stupid little sword at Wahoo's in Boise that we gave him, and he uses hangers for hooks. Well, one day I had told Jackson to do something and ended up asking him to do it like three times. Finally, on the third time I asked, I kind of raised my voice and gave him "The Look" and, in the most cheerful and agreeable voice, salutes me and says, "YES SIR CAPTAIN MOMMY!".

This Girl Can't Be 6 Months Already!--April 5th, 2011

Unbelievable but Little Miss Lilly is six months already! She has mastered sitting up on her own and will play forever on the floor with all her toys (big brother thinks he needs to keep her supplied, so she is never bored). She loves books (and only occasionally tries to eat the corners). She is eating table foods really well and is still not picky (can you tell?). She is self-feeding with her little snacks and loves using a sippy cup now. Her first two bottom teeth have popped through too! She loves tummy time and is trying to scoot, but darn it, I think that belly is just too heavy for any crawling action so far. She still has the sweetest and most cheerful personality and continues to be such a joy.

I have no idea why this one posted sideways, sorry.
